looking to replace ONE T3 headlight bulb. Checked Corvette Central book. It appears that they only sell them in sets of 4. Anyone know where I can pick up one in the Ft Myers Fla area?? Or order on line?
On E-bay they list the bulbs for different years and different GM models (sold in sets). Is there a way to determine a 63 to 67 Corvette T3 bulb?
One fellow stated that his bulbs where NCRS undetectable when turned off, however when on they are clearer and brighter than the original. He also said that his set of 4 cost ($97.99) would be less than the cost to buy one original T3?? my lights do not seem to light the road very well, allways thought it was just my vision.

Reason: spelling
http://www.lectriclimited.com/ sells them and I believe supply's all the venders. but they will not pass NCRS junging you will get a one point deduct for each for the DOT on the lights. they are not cheap
I'll just assume (I know I know) that 1 of your low beams is out, I'd buy a set of the LL headlamps and only replace the low beams, who really uses their high beams anyway besides the originals will still be there. With the LL headlamps you can actually see at night.
According to Lectric Limited, all older sealed beam bulbs leak the inert gas at a very slow rate (I believe they said it was through the sealing at the terminals). Therefore, be wary of "old" / NOS bulbs. If your old bulb looks "smokey" inside, then it is a sign that the gas has escaped, and the filament will burn out "soon".
Also, they said that they were required by the Feds (DOT) to add the "DOT" to the bulb face, in order to get them approved for usage on public roads. They did not want to add it, but had no choice.
I have the Lectric Limited T3 bulbs, and I still needed to add relays for them to light the road "properly". Know it is not NCRS, but for those guys who drive at night, relays do help the situation.

They otherwise do look nice, and the night vision will greatly improve over the 45 + year old bulbs. Save the originals for judging and get a new set for driving. Pilot Dan

then why pay $100 just to use them for driving. seems like a wast of money when a 8 dollar bulb from your flaps will light up just like the repros.

Looks matter!!!! They will all match, and it's pretty hard to tell the difference on these unless you are up close and scrutinizing them, vs. the FLAPS generic ones which are obvious even after several beers. I also saw them for a lot less at fall Carlisle (show special). They are nice touch IMO.

I can relate but how many people do you know when you have your car out at night the first thing they look at is the head lights. but I know what you mean
Try this guy in Fla. He sells a lot of real T-3's on eBay. Maybe he has what you need.
That's quite an interesting "Guide" - since I drew it up and handed it out years ago when I was selling used originals at NCRS Cypress Gardens. (At least somebody actually saved/used it!) I'd like to know what the seller says about 1960 and late 1971...

The Lectric Limited reproduction T-3's are made by Wagner Electric; they work fine at night, and are only a 3-point deduction (for the tiny DOT marking) in judging for a full set. The LAST thing you want is an original T-3; they're only marginally brighter than a kerosene lamp, and they fail regularly.
