Default To jute or not jute over the hushmat: that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler and necessary in the body to suffer
The extra work of jute install,
Or to take arms against a the extra work,
And by opposing end them? To complete the installtion simpler: easier;
And by simpler we say without compromise to heat or sound attenuation.
The heart-ache, the raw fingers, the aching back and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh may need to be sacrificed for the jute install.
Devoutly to be wish'd, for the installation to go with mimimal pain;
To start, to install, to finish, to look and feel professional:
ay, there's the rub;
For in that carpet installation, is the jute needeed with the hushmat?

I did search on this and found some information. My opinion at this point is to install the jute over the hushmat. What do you think?

Thanks
Bruce

Bruce, I am trying to find correct response for you. The information is readily available, it's the phrasing the response in Haiku that's stifling me.

I didn't put the jute down either. Unless you have a tight, no leak vehicle its not worth it. Water and jute don't mix,that stuff gets that funky mildew odor in no time. Just my 2 cents worth.

I did the jute over Dynamat and used the foam backed carpet on top. The result was a nice quiet cabin in the Coupe even with the side pipes. Pilot Dan

I covered everything with DynaMat then jute then carpet. No fit problems...seems to be plusher (sp?) with the jute.

I also did Hushmat followed by jute followed by carpet. Love it.

I will be using the jute over the hushmat. Thanks for the input.

George. Great information you put at that link! I read it end to end and will reference it thoroughly once I start the install.

I am using the 3M adhesive cleaner and it is by far the best adhesive remover I have tried. Still much work to do.
