Default 64, 65 365HP Intakes

What do I have here? This is the Winters 64/65, 365 HP intake. Removed the splash shield to clean it out and check the date of casting. It has none. Is this over the counter, or???





Cast date should be right in the center of this picture.

Here are some pictures of an original '64/365HP Winters aluminum intake. I never removed the splash shield....Not sure about the casting date.

Thanks Wolfman, That is the correct part. I have 3. In your picture of the bottom, where the ribbon of numbers show just under the splash shield, on the runner just out of site is where the cast date usually is. That ribbon of numbers on my picture is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10. I always pull them to clean them. I've yet to find a clean one. Usually a clump of coal or handful of sand waiting to enter your new engine! But this is the first one I've seen without the casting date. Thought it odd. Your shield has a "notch" my units do not have either.

I think u need to clean all the black choke off carefully as a number could be covered by that. Hard to see anything there in the pix. But i do have reference pix with casting numbers there. BTW they are cast side to side across the intake belly.

CardoO, too tired tonight to post a picture, but if you look up at the last picture I took there is a ribbon of numbers, 1 thru 10. That is the only number on the bottom of this one. I cleaned it today. If you look at that picture closely, there is a mark under the "1", a "shield" under the "5", and a "pointing hand under the "6". Actually it shows best in the first pic. I posted. I'm thinking this is a coded date. Maybe the 5 is for 65 as the hand points to it and the 1 is for Jan.? But then there are only 10 digits for 12 months. Must be something else.

Oh I believe u Pop. Just though it may help to look under the mess.

Kinda more valuable w/o a date code as can have more apps. Or could be service replacement.

Thanks Cardo0. I have two laying side by side in the garage, Will try to get a comparative pic. I think you understand, but others may not. Got most of the crud off except for the stain. Will bead blast soon, but out of time on this for now.
