Hey Everyone,
Here are some pictures of a pair of 1957 Corvettes we had the pleasure of restoring for a customer of ours.
I can't decide which one I like more...
Thanks for looking!

Fantastic set of twins. What is a good guess on the amount of hours it takes to complete one of them assuming a no hit body ? They are definately too nice to drive. A sad destiny to be locked in a showroom for the remainder of their days. My 57 was sold to pay for a college education. Not one of my brighter days.
The cars look great. Your shop has some very talented employees.

Beautiful cars, but I'm like the other guys. That Black/Red combo is hard to beat, but I'm a little prejudice too.

Very pretty and great work, but let me be blunt, How much did it cost the owners to have the work done, and if that's to direct, give us a ball park figure of what one could expect to pay for a job like this?

Thanks for the interest guys! Yes we do have a talented group of people here at County Corvette, many of which have been with us for a very long time.
jrs 427 / kerrmudgeon - The cost of a restoration (which obviously coorelates directly to hours) varys so much from car to car it is difficult to put a number on questions like that. The two cars pictured above needed a good deal of repair work prior to their restoration. Both cars exceeded $200,000+.
A FULL restoration usually falls in between 125k and 250k. Now I know that is a large gap but the determining factors are these; Quality of the car(body, trim, parts, ect) before the process, repro parts vs original, concours vs NCRS, and so on...
What is nice is that we are a full service facility and have the ability to do partial restorations, body and paint work, mechanical repairs, ect. So it doesn't have to be all or nothing.
I always encourage everyone if they are in the area to stop in and tour our shop. It is a great way to spend a few hours, esp for a Corvette enthusiast!
Please let me know if you have any other questions...

Thank you for taking a moment to address the question of cost, many new to the hobby have no idea how expensive restoration is to have done.

Each. Yes restorations are very time consuming and require skilled workmanship to bring the cars to the standards that are expected from our customers and ourselves. Cost does go up considerably when restoring a car like the two above to such a concours level added the prior body repair work involved.

I love a black car.
That is until it's dirty. Just walking around the car makes it dirty.
But I would turn either car down if you happen to be giving them away.

Well, to be fair though, isn't it safe to say that 57s are a lot more expensive to restore than a C3 for example? Plus, if you're doing a fuelie, you have the cost of the fuel injection system. That HAS to be a lot more money to do compared to a couple hundred dollar NCRS restoration on a carb, no?
Stunning cars and great job, BTW...

Each generation poses its own set of obstacles. But yes, you are right; the FI units obviously require a bit more time and money when it comes to a restoration. It is all relative though when you take into account the added value of an early FI car.

restoring cars and selling them for....profit.. Ha!.... restoring and profit are 2 words that just don't go together, can't happen! We do it for the hobby, the guy that buys it from us can make the profit I know 'cause this time i'm that guy!
