Default 67 427/390 oil drain plug.

Hi

Im looking for what would be the correct oil drain plug for my 67 427/390. The car is going to the Regional in Oregon in August. Im looking on Ebay but not sure of whats right. Does anyone know what the head marking should be?

Thanks Peter

there is a couple of correct head markings out lined in the NCRS manual. but its a 7/8 hex head blug bolt. they were used on all kinds of other chevy engins. so you might get lucky in a old junk yard

"L", Circle "A", "TR" are most commonly seen, and there were others too.

I think Long Island Corvette Supply sells a Circle A reproduction. Probably pretty close to original at much less cost. #38-27C. About $10.

Otherwise, call Richard Fortier at (810) 750-1472. Richard founded Paragon and is now semi-retired....but specializes in bolts and hard to duplicate ($$$$) parts for Corvettes. I have used him for my 1967 bolting needs. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Not cheap, but reasonable.
