That Plymouth came from my town! They came to our area and went to a junk yard owned by a mr twigg and he sent them to me bean a few miles away and they dragged that car from the basement of a building he owns. Mr bean always gives me crap about his electric bill so I've gotten to know him. The thing is mr bean has a 1 owner 69 vette and a 64 vette in a barn on his farm. I asked him to show me his vettes and I stopped one evening and I couldn't figure out if I was excited to see the cars or nervous about the possibility of being shot. One thing for sure to this day is if u mention that Plymouth and the pickers he will chuckle and smile because he knew he took them on that car.
Those two 'pickers' (my wife watches them a lot) aren't car guys by a long shot....
They seem to know bicycles, motor scooters, old cans/bottles, etc.. but not high end stuff.
At least the "Pawn Stars" show calls in experts to confirm their price estimates...[/quote]
So do the Pickers however, they bring in their experts AFTER they make their purchase . They dragged home a barn find 40's Plymouth business coupe (I think that's what it was) and brought in a car guy to give them an idea of what it was worth. They lost money on that one.

Have to say I picked up a stainless steel Taurus Titanium Ultra-Lite .38+P revolver with Hogue grips and cylinders that locked up like a vault; maybe had one box of shells put through it for $260...in a Jacksonville, FLA pawn shop. Doesn't get much better than that. But, yeah, most of those pawn shops are sleazeball operations.
I only watch American Pickers to see the plus-sized, tatted-up gal that works in the office. I have thoughts of her in a leather halter top with fish net hose and a riding crop. Is that wrong of me ?

When we visited the Pickers' shop, she wasn't there. Instead there was some other tatooed girl.

Not at all. Just throw in Rick James' "Super Freak" tune for an added bonus and your all set!

Errrrr....back on topic. Did that silly Americarna show get canceled ? The one with the guy that sees a classic car and first remark is, "Hello Beautiful.." About as silly as you can get. I think he paid like $60K for a roached-out, split window shell - and supposedly flipped it fast for a profit. Pretty hard to swallow.

I think that a large part of the premise of the majority of the auto-related shows is that they think no one in their target audience really knows very much about automotive history, so they can basically say anything they want and no one will call them out on it. So much misinformation, disinformation and just downright stupidity that it makes them hard to watch. And I swear, one more idiot with a black T-shirt and a stupid beard running around yelling "Woooooooo!" and I'm going to tow the TV down the street to see if I can jump-start it back to some shows that were worth watching.

Does everyone that works on a car today have to have a tattoo?
Is that mandatory to get the job?
The more tattoo's the better the mechanic.
