Storing/Hanging C2 Hardtop
I've researched prior threads and am still looking for a creative way to get my hardtop out of the way. I can either hang it on the wall, up high, or hand it on the ceiling. Anyone have a method that works well?

Melting Slicks
Wall hang it
Get a couple of lag-hooks and screw them into studs 32" horizontally apart. About 4-5 feet up the wall.
Get a length of smooth rod (I used 1/4" dia.") and cut it long enough to go through the side attachment plate holes with 1-2" extending on each end.
Drill holes on each end to accept hitch pin clips.
Install the rod onto the top and you can just lift it up and hang the rod on your lag hooks. The header will rest on the wall surface so you may want use a piece of foam to prevent flattening of the rubber. Throw a sheet over it and you're good to go.

Sounds like an easy, quick storage solution...and much cheaper than buying a ceiling rack.

Or buy one of those top hoists for cheap (like $29) and some nylon ratchet straps for extra security and hang it from the ceiling ready to drop on the car. A flat steel rod across the bottom of the top keeps it from distorting over time. Some strategically placed pieces of wooden paint stirrer sticks keeps the straps of the weatherstripping.

Gee Frankie you really don't trust that center strap do you, ha ha. Better safe than sorry. I like that system, because it makes it an easy one man procedure to install and remove.
