Better lucky than good
As most know, I bought a VERY original 65 coupe last year. One of the very few things that had been replaced was the starter solenoid. I've been looking for the correct numbered (1114356) one for almost a year. They show up occasionally on E-Bay for $50+ but I hate to pay that much for a $15 part.
Today, while searching my stash for a part for my Cobra, I noticed a couple solenoids in a box. One was an aftermarket part(most are) and one was a perfect Delco. Guess what the part number was - 1114356. I about crapped my pants. I've probably had that part for 30+ years and never knew it was something I would eventually need.
I'm on my way to buy a lottery ticket.

You sound like me... never throw anything away because you may need it someday. Sometimes that theory actually does come through.
