Jack arrived about Noon today and had lunch with us and a couple of cold ones We had about 17 Corvettes on hand to greet him and see him off when he left this afternoon.

He is a real character and you guys that are going to see him along the way will really enjoy him

Also, Don, Forum member "65hihp" flew in from LA and was able to join us. Good time.

Default If you are coming through Beaufort, SC

Jack

I see your proposed route seems to be coming through or near Beaufort SC. Not sure when you'll be this way but I'd guess it will be quite some time. Would love to meet you and help you along any way we can. My son is in the Navy and I am keeping his 64 Coupe for him here in Beaufort (South Carolina, not NC). Since you are doing a blog I am assuming you have routine internet access and we'll be following your trip on line. PM me and I'll get you our address and phone number and if you are coming through and need a place to light (and we are home) you are welcome to stay with us.

Smokey73

EDIT - Jack - just saw your schedule and if it holds we won't be able to host you - RATS - We'll keep up and if your schedule changes maybe we can get together or I could at least give you a short "escort" for some of the trip between Savannah and Charleston. I'm guessing you are planning on going on or near US 17. If you get delayed (hope you don't have any mechanical problems that delay you though) maybe things will work out differently.

Jack: When you are sightseeing in NM look for Carlsbad Caverns. I've been there a couple of times. Quite impressive. It is in the Southeast part of the state near El Paso, TX.

You can also catch Roswell, NM about two hours North on your way to Colorado. Not a lot there but when I was detailed to Artesia, NM Roswell was the nearest "large" city and there is an airport there.

He needs his car for the whole 48 state tour.
If he stopped in NYC, his car would likely be swiped.....

Ps. We sure enjoyed our visit to the Cape Vettes corvette roundup, and
chatting with Jackfit. Thanks again for the Cape Cod hospitality Paul and Janet

Jack Panzica at Cape Vettes on Day One, explaining how to cram 3 months worth of clothes, supplies and camping gear into a 66 Sting Ray Convertible. The car is looking great in its fresh new coat of Glen Green paint.

Congrats on getting your trip underway, Jack. We'll be following your journey from day to day, I for one wishing I was on the trip as well!

Looks like this thread would be a good candidate for a "Sticky", posted at the top so we can all keep up with the trip over the coming weeks. Moderators, what do you think???

I was just thinking the same thing. A Sticky would allow us to find and peruse much easier.....

Maybe if enough members pick up on this, one of the Mods will notice and oblige!
