Who Sells Rear End Gears
Looking for a set of 3.70 rear end gears for my 65 stock 3 carrier. I know Zip sells them, but I'd like to know the manufacturer first. Anyone else ?

Everybody sells them, perhaps try GM if you want Made in N.A. no guarantee even then. You may be better looking for a good set of used ones here on the parts forum. They are pretty easy to judge the wear by the pattern and thrust surfaces. People have extra old ones sitting on the shelf, I know I do, but no 3.70's.

The aftermarket gears are typically Richmond Diamond, and that's what's in mine. They are reported to be stronger than original. They even offer a 3.90:1 that GM never did

If you would not mind something made in the corn fields of Indiana, check out Moser:

Bill, we get that gear from Motive. We also rebuild rears here and have been doing it a long time if you want us to do it for you.

Was not offered in my year.
Furthermore, according to Google, the only place this number appears on the web for a C2-C3 Corvette rear end is in one posting on the Corvette Forum, yours.

I see so what your saying is if Google doesn`t show it it doesn`t exist? try looking in the Corvette chassis section of a Chevy Power book.....you do know what a Chevy Power book is don`t you?

I do happen to have a copy of the "Chevrolet Power Service Manual" however.
And while it does in fact list that a 3.90 gear was available for the Corvette, it was never offered as a factory option. Furthermore, I'd like to see you walk into the Chevy dealer and walk out with one. You can get Richmond Diamond gears though.
Furthermore, the Richmond Diamond 3.90:1 gears allow you to use the 3-series carrier and the GM 3.90:1 gear requires the less available 4-series carrier.

No, I have no idea what the "Chevy Power book" is.

Your exact wording was "They even offer a 3.90:1 that GM never did" you NEVER said a word about it being a factory option or which carrier it fits or where one could buy one....but nice try.
