Default Anyone with 700R pictures?

Just picked up my 700R for the 58. The body is off and I don't think it will be much of a challenge, though I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the process they went through while doing this swap.
Thanks in advance.
Nate

Most have chosen the 200R4 over the years since its an easier install. Search the C1/C2 archives for "700" to see what comes up.

Wrong. Not on a C1.

How is it wrong? To some a C1 is a classic, to others a sports car and to some a streetrod.... Most street rods are automatics....

Here is a picture of my 63 with 700R, you can see that the mount is about 3 inches back of the original location. The thing I like about the 700 is that the pan seems to be shorter than the pan on the 200 so you don't run into a problem of the pan getting back to close to the cross member giving you a little more room to fabricate a new mount.

I know it is not a C1 but might help shed some light.

A sot of the 69 shifter I modified.

I put a 700R4 in our 62. I used the stock shifter and a 700R4 crossmember, brake light/TC lock-up switch, and a TV Cable made EZ kit from www.700R4.com . The 700R4 fits and doesn't run hot, but it is tighter than the PG and TH350 I used to run. I'm also running a 1800-2200 lock-up converter.

They claim their stock replacement shifter allows manual shifting into all four gears, but I wasn't able to get more D and O/D with it.

I use a 31" frame-mounted cooler and a Derale Pan,but would recommend an extra deep finned aluminum pan instead of the Derale.

200 won't fit without a lot of work as compared to a 700. 700 is simple undercar bolt in, 200 requires body off to make it work/fit/install, or perhaps in can be done with motor and trans assembly out and back in, but I have my doubts.

I thought the 700R was larger in size?

Cheers

Look at where the rear trans mount location is vs the two.

That pan looks like it is crying out for some custom cold air forced induction ducting from the front of the car, but I believe the finned alum pan would still transfer more heat, depending on undercar temperatures.

I have spent some time cogitating the best place for an under car trans cooler on a C1 and all the solutions involve some sort of air ducting, either forced, or induced, to get good cross flow across the fins.

Just in case i ever decide a 700 belongs in there.

PS, you may want to consider wrapping that exhaust pipe with some fiberglass wrap, where is is close to your cooler.

Just wanted to say thanks to all who have added some input. I guess I will have to closely document this swap for future reference. It sure seems like this package deal will be a direct bolt up and with out the body on, I should be able to pull off some good pics.
