Default Have You Cleaned Out THESE Drain Holes?

Was replacing the t-arms and discovered that there is a drain hole there. In the frame, just below where the shims set. Sand and small stones were set like concrete in mine. The drain hole makes sense, it's just that I never knew about it before. Call me stupid.

Just thought I'd mention it in case there are other 'stupids' out there.

Bud.

the op is referring to the drain holes in a Sting Ray frame, below the rear trailing arm shim pack, that allows water running off the shims to drain from the frame pocket.

Yup, I cleaned them, along with a few other parts.....

STARTING POINT (you can see the drain holes the original comment refers to, they are at the bottom of the frame, right below the trailing arm pocket

After chemical dip

After welding in of new metal

After powdercoating

As she sits now

They work for me. I had to play with them a bit. I accidentally copied the wrong links first time out.

Thanks. My dad is pretty pleased about how well his old car looks these days.

He looked at me, mid-way through the restoration, just after the body went to the paint shop and the chassis was being torn down and said "Man....we're NEVER gonna get this thing back together...."

Well, three Top Flights later, I think we succeeded.
