Radials for my 67

Radials for my 67
I'm having a little trouble navigating the forum, but I've received some great advice from a few forum members. I have decided to go with radials for my 67, but no manufacturer from 67 makes a 205/75-15. I have seen some comments about 215/70-15 and am wondering if that size will work and what the pros and cons would be if I went with this size. bFG makes a 1 inch whitewall in that size. My factory original spare is a 5/8 whitewall BFG. Thanks guys!

Firestone makes a good 205-75-15 with a 5/8 white wall. tire name is FR380. about $70 each. any bigger then that you run the risk of it rubbing the fenders

Ordered the firestones from my local guy today. When I gave him the product code he told me that they were no longer available. After checking further, he will have 4 tires for me tomorrow, mounted and balanced for 329.24. Seems fair to me! Coker quoted me 913.00 for 4 BFG 215/70-15. Thanks for saving me 600.00 bucks guys!!!!

they are not a performance tire but they are a good driving tire. I think you will like them.

One thing I would advise, check the date code on the tires before you have them installed to be sure they are "fresh" tires. I believe too many dealers are still selling old tires (2 or more years) in these odd sizes.
I would be interested in hearing how you like them after they're installed and you get some miles on them. I'll be in the market to replace my tires soon.

Like I sad my dad and I both have those tires. I put about 800 miles this year on them in my chevelle, at highway speeds and around town. I never drove it in bad weather or tried to race the car. but it gives the car a nice smooth ride and they are quiet. if you are looking for a white wall that looks like original then this is the tire you are looking for.

My car currently has Michelins on it but they were installed in 1989. I was told that they (michelin) no longer made a white wall to fit a 67 vette. Looking forward to getting the firestones tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted about ride quality. I ordered the 205/75-15 rather than the 215/70-15 that coker wanted over $900.00 for in BFG. Thanks

P205 75/15 Goodyear Invictas from the early 90's.
Only driven 6000mi since then.....
Hum, time for new tires.
I'll look into the dbtire link.
I still have the original bias redline spare hanging underneath.
Cheers,
Chris

I bought a set of Goodyears from www.tirerack.com last year. The price was pretty good too.

I had the firestones mounted and balanced today. I put about 15 miles on them and I'm very pleased so far with the ride and appearance. The date code on the tires confirmed that they were manufactured in late 2009. I'll keep you posted as I break them in.
