Hello, looking for a knowledgeable person to inspect a 67 coupe in Illinois. Any suggestions? Never had this done before.

May want to narrow it down a bit. Chicago area or southern part of state...........or???

There are several good ones around Illinois, but need to focus a bit more. Likely these inspections will cost vs free, but you never know.

I'm relatively new to the site and I used a company called Lemon Squad to look at a couple different cars. They're nation wide, reasonably priced, and have a pretty quick response time. They are not necessarily experts on a specific car but will definitely give you an overall condition report. For a little extra you can speak personally to the inspector and discuss any specific concerns you may have.

Get ahold of Pancho here on the Forum. He's one of the best around for Corvettes. Search his name here on the Forum and you will see that he is highly Qualified and trusted. I believe he's out of Ohio but travels often.

Pancho is the best, however he lives east of Cleveland so it maybe to far. At any rate send him a pm, there is no harm in asking and perhaps he can recommend someone in your area. Good luck and having the corvette inspected before buying is smart. He is provette67 here on the forum.
