Default Side pipes insulator

I do not have the insulators on my side pipes.
Does anyone else have theirs the same way if so have you had any problems?
How hard are they to install if I buy them after market?

I took mine off this year. No problems. Heck I burnt my ankle on the tip as I was getting out in the close quarters I was parked in.

I would think you might take a chance with melting the covers, but that is just a Wild a$$ guess. I guess it would depend on how close your pipes are to the cover. I think they probably also served that purpose along with keeping the heat away from your legs. However, I ran one for a year or so with the curved portion out of it and no problems, but I later glued it back in.

Ray,
I used JB Weld on an insulator 3 years ago, still holding strong. Plus, the color was a good match to the original stuff.

Ray, I used the black glue Sermershiem uses. APF 7 Black made by Axson. Jim
