Yes Paul, correct. No ports on either end.
Yes, there are stampings on bothe ends of the heads. All similar but slightly different.

BTW - Stanford University was measuring John Morton's brain activity while he drove the car. That's what all the wiring on his head was about.

C2 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019
Two weeks ago, I dusted off the car and drove out to the annual Cowtown Corvettes show. We handily won the competition class. On arrival several people came by saying that the only reason they came was to see my car!
Another guy (who's C1 was the overall show winner) came by to tell me that after spying my knockoff's safety wires, he recommended that I use red loctite to secure the knockoff's, as he does on his car. He had no idea that my knockoff's weren't cosmetic like his!

A few years back no one paid any attention to GS details.
At this point it's all about details. I like that. I've always thought that if you're going to build a replica then it ought to be a good replica.

Miles Collier went through this whole thought process with 004. He feels that in a race car restoration you should choose the most significant race. That can be a little subjective but it does give the restorer a direction. Even then it gets complicated.
I recently looked at 004 with the gentleman who built the initial GS exhaust system. The exhaust system currently on the car is not the one he designed. At the same time is is the one shown in pictures of the Sebring race. These cars changed on a weekly basis.

Richard:
I know that the initial direction you want to take your car, (at least for me) is a big deal, especially since your going to spend $80K-$120K of your hard earned greenbacks on it.
I to am taking my (Very slow) GS build in a different direction. I'm not one to follow the crowd and as you stated, they could change their appearance on a weekly basis depending on where they were racing, what team owned them, and sponsorship changes.
As you can see on my picture I decided since "Gulf O be built in the what could have been if GM had stay in Racing, and if they had come through with the initial construction of 125 GS's for the Street.
Do what would make you a proud owner of your car. It is unlikely that whatever you decide won't keep your car from drawing a big crowd. Every time I have been somewhere a "Replica/Tribute" GS has been they have ALWAYS been very popular with any crowd.
Note:
For those who remember when I started my project, I am still working in a positive direction, but have been hammered by some family issues that I couldn't ignore. Since I have wanted one since I was 16, and I'm not 54, I bet I'll stick with it to see it through and finally be able to post some completed pictures.
I always enjoy our C2 Conversation.

Coupe Wiper Motor
Hi
Not many photos out there showing the coupes wiper motor details. Was an off the shelf "518" motor with pump used even though the dash cluster button was clearly not the preferred method? Or was there a block off plate instead of a washer/pump assembly? Or none of the above??? Any help appreciated.

My Grand Sport #004 Seat Belts
Well this is the best I can do in 2016. I made 3x2 for driver and just 3" lapbelt for passenger. All new belts, a little staining, changed out ends to clip on and reproduced labels. (Thanks Marty)

Ahhh thanks guys. I've already made some mistakes before finding some original period images. The ultimate goal was to fool Jim from 100 yards away.........
ps the wiper motor appears to be just off the shelf pump-less, unclear if it was passenger car or in my case, "518" with NOS cover.
Cheers

Larry,
Isn't it your intention to track your car when it's done?
If so, and if you have to pass tech inspection, you'll need a set of belts and harnesses dated somewhat newer than 1962!
Just sayin'....
