Default Any chance we can HEAR and see you car in action?

Dear Wizzard:

Any chance we can see and hear you car in action? (From the inside and outside?)

I'll be happy to drive to Ft Worth if you need a camera man! ;-)

Your intake looks great.

I am anxious to see how much power it makes. I really like the IR's they are really missing on most GS's except for the ZL1/L-88's among us.

Thanks for posting.

The heads are designed for the Honda S2000 and the Honda K Series engines. The head pictured is the first machined S2K casting. This base head is designed for a 2-liter application, so the ports are very high-velocity for mid-range torque. At .700" lift, the intake side moves 438cfm.....

Blew the tree-droppings out of the garage yesterday with my GS. A neighbor told me he greatly prefers the roar of my engine to the 2-stroke leaf-blowers the yard men use!

I don't think any of my recording equipment could accurately reproduce the sound(s) the engine makes now. From idle (or anywhere else for that matter), the response is explosive. When I've said it'll bark at you, I'm not kidding.
The exhaust is loud, as the only "mufflers" are one auger-style insert per side, so in the driver's seat, I can't determine what wonderful sound is coming from where.
I couldn't be more pleased with it. I have all-new Toyo's on the car, and it hooks really hard. I've been told that you can see daylight under the fronts on the second gear exchange on 130° concrete.....

Wizzard:

At some point IF your interested, I wouldn't mind making the drive to your part of the town to try and capture some of these elusive sight and sounds, if you would like. Your Intake, short of the Inglese (Maybe) is the best one I have seen for the top end of our engines especially with the efi. I know you make several arts for these cars including specific "Lifting" hardware for the rear ends of the cars.

I have a set of your hinges for my car that I am very proud to make a part of my build, and I am also very interested in ALL the real brilliant custom feature this group has come up with to try and give these, "Lost Soldiers" a new life in the eyes of the public who for whatever reason has never heard of or seen one of these beautiful Iconic cars.

This thread is the best, and I'm glad to have been a small part of it for quite awhile. You fellows on here have helped keep me sane through some very difficult times.

Wizzard, If you have spec sheet on your GS especially the special features you have added and/or sell I'm sure the people here would really enjoy reading about everything. You car like other here has gone through a metamorphoses over time, as all these cars did back in the day. I would really enjoy, or appreciate anyone with a GS to create a specific thread for their cars, so everyone when they search to find this "General Grand Sport" thread that their own cars will come up at the same time.
I really think other people trying to learn about and see examples of, will find all these threads a real benefit for their own knowledge, and possibly inspire more to be built, or help those who for whatever reason want to sell their GS, they will make it easier for possible buyers to find them.

In the mean time, please know soon I will be able to help "Shoot" your car if you have any interest in the very near future. It would be my pleasure, and I'm sure the pleasure of the people on this site to experience the great work you have put into your car.

Take care, stay cool.

Sincerely,

Ty O'Neal

Lets wait for a cooler day Ty. I may have the rear suspension narrowed by then as well. This will allow me to go to 14" wide rear wheels.

Well I made it ugly with the attempt to copy the 64' Sebring left hand head light bucket. Seems it showed up at tech with damage and quick repair.

What do you guys think of the Superformance GS.. A few weeks ago I saw a "Jay Leno's Garage" Clip on the Superformance GS's two Models.. Here's the Video... Seems they covered all the bases with the two models ..Kind Of Pricey But made me drool

If The Video doesn't start in the begging ..pull the time bar back to 000.

I should have spent more time reshaping and making the seat framework but I did get the correct dead nuts on 60s material.

Your car is an absolute knock-out....
Larry
I think you will find that those seats don't hold you in place very well. They're great for the vintage GS look, but they don't make driving easy....unless you're strapped in so tight that you can't move. When I replaced the seats in mine, I was instantly able to feel the car moving laterally, making driving a lot easier.

Ya I haven't started the car yet so I dont know the temps yet. Back in the day they didnt run a fan blade/clutch. Keep it above 100 mph, I'll be fine!
And there are a handful of things that will never remain on the car past the trailer queen stage. Open exhaust, silly boat lights, bungie holding down hood, cb radio and the seats.
This was a goal to see how close I could get it to #004 without emptying my 401K.

Where did you end up with jets? I'm close with Pierce w/Weber 48's; main 1.6f, 2.10a, idle 0.45f, 0.70f. It's a little rough (lean) in the transition but good everywhere else.

Yep your Right...Above 100..who needs a Fan..L.O.L. I Have a HUMMER H2.... 6.2... 2009.. When the A/C is on Around Town and on the Highway the Fans run all the time... Sounds like NASCAR if your outside next to the front end. When I get er up to over 80 Mph..The front Rad dual fans shut off.....I guess at that speed they slow the air flow down over the rad. So ..Who Needs Fans Over 100...LMAO...

Hi Guys,
I am new here.
Recently took delivery of what I understand to be D&D Grand Sport Replica #111.
How can I definitively identify this as a D&D Replica?
Have been a Grand Sport fan since I saw my first Grand Sport in the Corvette Corral, at Bloomington Gold back in 1985.
Looking forward to learning more about this particular car, as well as all Grand Sports!
