This fits a 55 Chevy. How about a C2?

That's pretty , but I like the Falconer V12 like in this C4. It's a downsized version of the Rolls-Merlin's aircraft motors from WW2.....

They use is in the baby Mustangs for air races.

BPM MARINE ENGINE V-12 620

The BPM V-12 620 engine is a normally aspirated, all-alloy V-12, outstanding in performance, torque and weight. This engine has been developed and built exclusively for one purpose only: reliable, high performance marine application.

The engine block and cylinder heads are made from saltwater-resistant aluminium, cylinder liners, guides and valve seats are machined in. The camshaft is driven by two silent-operation chains and the valves are in a V-arrangement.

The engine is standard equipped with an ELECTROMOTIVE Direct Ignition System (without distributor) and the fuel is supplied by an electric pump and six WEBER carburettors. Delivery with an electronic fuel injection system is optional.

There is direct cooling; an indirect system with heat exchanger is also optional. Transmission can be with hydraulic or mechanic inverter, with a ratio 1:1 or 1.5:1.

Number of cylinder / angle

12-V / 60 degree

Displacement

730 cubic inches

Bore and stroce

4.33 x 4.13 in.

V.12 / 620 S Horsepower

630 at 4500 rpm

Torque

767 ft./lbs. at 3,650 rpm

Compression ratio

8.7 : 1

V.12 / 620 SH Horsepower

750 at 4800 RPM

Torque

810 ft./lbs. at 3,800 rpm

Compression ratio

9.2 : 1

Dry weight (without inverter)

1212 lbs.

At over 1200# it seems like it would be more suited for a 1 ton truck chassis. I'd take a 572 crate motor from Generous Motors over that thing any day.

I DO like the "bundle-o-snakes" headers, though!

It looks cool, but I'm getting about 580 hp out of my LS2 motor in my 07 vette, so half the cubes and less than half the weight, and only a little less power.

Well, not really. The Falconer V-12 is essentially a Chevy small-block with four added cylinders; the Rolls Merlin had overhead cams and four valves per cylinder.

I saw a 1930s Rolls Royce with the Merlin engine installed. It was a VERY fine cutom built hot rod from late 40s early 50s England. I think it was at an R-M auction.

John, I was going by a description on a site that was making the 3/4 Mustangs, I forget the name, and thanks for enlightening me. After reading your post about Falconer, it rang a bell.....I think their was a thread about that engine about a year ago, where you described it with the Chevy reference. Early onset Alzheimer I guess....

Sorry guys that car was built by my friend Rod Hadfield who lives in Castlemaine Victoria Australia. He built the car in the attempt to seduce some wealthy American into buying it but failed to get the big bucks from the States to cough up ! Hence the Americana signage ! He was a Hot Rod builder and sold dropped axles for lots of cars to lower them without mucking with the suspension. Sorry it's all Australian ! Stewy
