I feel like I just got robbed.
I just ordered new emblems from Zip's for my 67. My catalog is I believe 2 years old. It had the rear script for $39.95. Todays price is $139.95. What the hell is going on. No one could answer me why. i checked other vendors also, CC $ 139 Paragon $ 111 I don't get the price increase. The 65 is still around $40 Shemp

I've seen some similar price jumps on C1 parts in the last three years...but I have seen some prices drop. Could be a dozen reasons why but it usually all goes back to demand and supply.

I was recently looking at side flags for my 63, I'm not satisfied with the quality of the GM flags(still in the box) that I bought several years ago. A major Corvette supplier sells 2 different types, one vastly higher priced than the other. When I asked if the higher ones are a lot better quality, the very nice lady I talked to laughed and said actually no, the high priced ones are GM and don't look nearly as nice as the ones from the aftermarket supplier. Mine look like they were painted by a blind man in a sandstorm if anybody is interested. I wouldn't put em on a junker. But they do have the correct GM part # on the back.

The part is a GM part and the price is GM price. Gm has no money and to make a special run of low volume emblems forces the cost to go up.

I found the same thing going on with NPD for my Camaro. It hasn't been over four monthe since I down loaded their catalog and since have seen big price increases.
Sure would be nice to see an increase in Social Security for the inflation that didn't happen!

The 67 Emblem comes from GM, you would have to understand how there parts production works to understand the price. I am surprised they even made it vs. discontinuing it. The 65 emblem is not made by GM it is manufactured by Trim Parts and they set the cost of their part. GM pricing does not always make since, when they were available the snap rings for the axles on a 85-96 D44 were $455 and the D36 were 45.50. Simple clerical issue, but that was the price. GM has set the price and we do not have a choice.

"Trim Parts" makes a rear deck emblem for a 65, for 45 dollars......they don't make one for a 67.....if they did, you would probably see the GM price drop.

If GM makes it? The price has gone up anywhere from 30-300%. Anyone tried to buy late model Chevy parts lately? I feel like I am at the Mercedes parts counter. Even with a dealer discount, the prices are crazy.
