Default '63 original documents on ebay!

Saw this listing on ebay....gona make someones day!!!

Item number 220724925257

You are bidding on an original 1963 Chevrolet Corvette invoice: both the handwritten and printed copy. The dealer was Loehmann Chevrolet Co., Inc. Interstate 84 at Scott Road in Waterbury Connecticut. The date was July 12, 1963. The vehicle identification # is listed as 30867S103588. It was a red convertible with a 4 speed trans., positraction, whitewalls, signal seeking radio. The hardtop was handwritten into the options section as costing $188.30. Purchase price was $4541.90 plus $96.25 in tax. A trade-in vehicle was listed: 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Sedan for $1791.90. The handwritten form appears to be an order form filled out on July 9, 1963 which contains essentially the same information as the sales receipt. Happy bidding on this rare piece of history. I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

What's your question, Jack? Some sellers put "happy bidding" or "good luck bidding" at the end of every auction, and even more people, myself included always make some sort of notation like ''email questions." Questions are possible whether its a $100,000 car or a $2 hockey puck.

Default ???

I formerly owned 30837S103595, a silver/red 340 hp split window coupe that was only 7 cars after this one. I understood that these were early cars built in October '62. Why would this one be for sale in July '63??

Very possible that it sat on the dealer's lot for 9 months before someone bought it. The "signal seeking radio" option is a giveaway that it was an early 63 car.

The car is listed on the C2 registry with the owner listed as Jett Vetts LLC with no location. Does anyone know where Jett Vetts is located ??? The description on the registry matches the info in the auction. The car was added into the registry today.

RON

Edit---I E-mailed them, and told them of the auction. I clicked on their name on the registry and their E-mail address came up. Let's see what happens.

Ron, I went ahead a listed the car on the C2 Registry. I am also bidding on the invoice to add to my collection of original documents in hopes of locating the current owner. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for contacting me.

JettVetts,

I apologize if by posting this auction here I caused the price skyrocket. Just wanted to make sure the "owner" of the car, if still around, found thier documents. Like so many of us, myself included, we log on each night in hopes you have listed "our" vette's documents on your post.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

Im glad that you posted the auction on the Forum because we both have the common goal of locating current owners. Hopefully, one day your documents will be found!
