Non-Chevy engine swaps
Pre-1965, some C2 owners wanted much more than 327 cubic inches.
I remember an article in an East Coast magazine about a Pontiac specialist who put a 421 HO into his '63 convertible, the exterior was stock with hubcaps, etc. and he cleaned up in street races.
Hot Rod magazine did features on 406 Ford and 426 Hemi swaps, I recall pics of one of these showing its custom full-width '65-'66 BB-style hood bubble to clear the engine.
More recently, the small but mighty Buick V-6 Turbo has found its way under the hoods of some later model 'Vettes.
Anybody own one of these special hybrids or have pictures?

Here's a good pic of a non-chevy engine in a 68 corvette.

I was at a car show a couple of months ago and a fellow told me about seeing this car for sale years ago at a car lot in Oregon. I figured he was crazy and no such thing existed.

V12 in a C3....
Here's my project in the works-
BMW V12 -alum heads and block backed by a Richmond 6 speed-
No frames or animals were modified to fit this engine weighing in dressed at 500lbs.

This has been equalled, if not exceeded by a show-quality pro street '69 Camaro with a HONDA engine.
But AIR it might be a V-6 or V-8 Acura or truck engine. It was in a rodding or muscle car magazine a few years ago.

Nice BMW application. Thanks to all, hope to see more submissions. The Forum was incomplete without the 40-years-too-soon Stude-powered Obamavette.
My mind has been made up for many years to stick my personal favorite engine, a 1970 500 CI Cadillac in my C2, come next rebuild. It's actually lighter than a BB Chevy.

Here's my entry for a counter-intuitive engine swap. Car is a C5, well prepared road racer. Stunningly fast. Well driven.
At one event, it ran in an exhibition race against retired Winston Cup cars. It was gridded last but was out front by about the halfway point of the 10 lap sprint.
Here are the pictures. Can you tell what the engine is?
Hint: Think "blue oval"

Here's a 78 Pace car w/ a Jag V12-
Jim that Ford motor is definitely counter intuitive-
My favorite "WTH" swap is this one-
A Ferrari w/ a Pontiac Fiero V6

In the early to mid 60's there was a straight-axle Corvette running around South Jersey with and FE Ford in it that was considered a terror. It was known as the Ford-ette.
