My 66 has a replacement ignition switch without the housing for the light. I have located a few NOS ones but I have a question. All the ones I have seen have two brass pins. Does this mean I have to find a lock cylinder with two small holes so I can depress those pins to remove the cylinder? That is, of course, assuming that's what those brass pins are for.
Thanks,
Rick L.
You will find them with both single and double pins. Only one pin is required.
The Ignition Switch of my 1963 Corvette has a false contact in the "ON" position. Did order on Ebay a new Ignition Switch but my 1963 lock cylinder doesn't fit. Slot in switch is diagonal while my cylinder has a half moon behind the cylinder. Do I have a wrong switch or cylinder? What are the possible solutions. I live in Aruba and it's the only Split Window on this Island. Thanks for your help.
I have a 1963 Corvette. Just bought an Ignition Switch but my lock cylinder with a half moon at the end doesn't fit the rectangular slot in the switch. Which one is wrong?

You have a 66-67 ignition switch. The rotor was changee in 66 from the half-moom to a slot (Picture on left). What is the casting number on the housing?
Thank you Bill GS for your answer to my question. No number is shown on the switch but "ASSY IN MEXICO". Can I use this switch if I can locate a "Cylinder lock (plunger)" ? Brgds.

You must have a aftermarket switch. A '63 switch looks like the one below. If you like what you have get a 66-67 key set which is the cheaper way to go. I have a '63 switch left at $105 or you can look around at eBay.
