I remember the first time I saw that T lockout on the T 10 I nearly pissed my pants ! It wasn't that long ago that I actually saw my first one. I always loved the shifter in the 289 Shelby AC Cobra. Then I saw the 59 - 62 Vette I was dribbling everywhere. So for my last birthday I bought a fully restored one in mint condition. I slept with it for a week I think. Installed it a few months later. I'm now infactuated with the grab bar and cove with the two bars above and below the Corvette script ! The interior of a 59 -62 is just fully sick ! stewy

Dale Earnhardt's autograph on the hood of the 56 (look closely) and Zora's autograph on a 57FI poster.
Also, a picture of my uncle (Mom's older brother) as a 19yr old B17 pilot (who became a father figure to me after my Dad died). He was a 2Lt in 1943 when the picture was takern. Never missed a mission, never lost a crew member (but some were injured) and only lost 2 engines on his worst mission. (

Restored original Sunoco 260 dial-a-blend gas pump (housewarming gift from my wife when we built our retirement home); all she forgot was the 8,000-gallon underground tank full of 260 .

John Mecom's phonebook that dates to the period when he was involved with the Grand Sports:

Rod from the engine that Eddie Hill made his best ever pass with.
Inscribed "0 to 323.74 in 4.52 Sec" on one side and "Thanks, Dave!-Eddie Hill" on the other.

The name was Chuck DAIGH, not "Day". I guess Mecom had only heard it at the time he made the notation. One of my Houston business associates went to high school with John, said he was a fun guy even then.

My favorite is a radio made into a Lincoln car of the thirties. My Grandmother gave it to me "special" as I lived with her. It is about in about 1954. I have been dragging it around all these years. It still has the radiator cap.

Even so, the book is a literal "Who's Who" of racing in the '60s.

I still have lots of items from my WW2 collection and my Civil War collection. But,car stuff, would be this C6R windshield used at Road Atlanta. I won it at Johnny's auction one year. I also have a set of "Parade of Progress" playing cards. These were handed out when the big tour hit your town.
