The loudest Corvette C2 I've ever seen!!
I post here a video of a very very loud Corvette C2 I saw a few weeks ago during an event for historical cars. I assure you that I had to stop filming because of the noise.
What do you think about this car?

To me the car looks just like a Corvette C2 used for historic racing in Europe
Competing with Ferraris, Porsches, Astons well all the known European sport cars

That loud does no one any good. After getting the 427 built, I recorded 115 dB on the straight to turn 1 at Moroso. Limit at the time was 108 dB. We put together a bunch of baffles and got down to 112. Black flagged again for noise.
So the rest of the weekend, I would lift and clutch in to coast as I passed sound control.
Even with ear plugs, the ear shields, and a full-face helmet, it was far too loud to be comfortable in the car.
The next month, we had it running about 106 with baffles. We never saw a difference in lap times.
The next year at Sebring, the baffles gave us 107 with the 302. Since that could marginally jump to 108, and some tracks were talking about using 105 dB, we changed to a different set of pipes with mufflers and dropped to 98 dB. No noticeable difference in lap times.
Loud pipes don't save lives, but they give you hearing loss and get you disqualified from races.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, so I would presume you're not a fan of top fuel dragsters, right? Or top fuel hydros?

The problem was the noise, the backfires would blow out regular mufflers, or melt the glass in glass packs, so I ran a Racing Beat 16ga steal box muffler, BOY WAS IT LOUD!
The backfires when you lifted from full throttle were also entertaining, sounded like a shotgun blast, and would shoot two or three foot flames out the tail pipe!
Sure surprised a lot of Z28's, Vettes and TA's with that little car though, light and very fast.

What a shame. I guess he must be a ricer lover at heart with a fart can on the tail pipe.
And it would be a waste to invite him to Tinker AFB to observe a B1 bomber start it's takeoff roll with full afterburners kicked in.
