OMFG..................the end of the world as we know it is just over the horizon. We have to deal with people cloning Corvettes to high dollar Big Blocks and now this! Next it will be Vega chassis. We are no better that Cobra clowns...........................Don't get me started.

Hey that doesnt look bad at all, seems fairly passable unless youre a die hard. Like the late frame too wouldnt take much to really make it handle.
Rear lights almost look a touch too close together but heck who cares drive that sucker into the ground.

Replica
I recently picked up one of those kit car 67 Corvette roadsters in a package deal with a 69 Firebird 400 convertible. It's on e-bay right now, the Goodwood Green one.
First off, I have owned several C-2 and C-3 Vettes. I didn't want to like it. In fact I was sure I was going to hate it. It was in storage for about 8 years having only 1700 miles on it. It was also one built by the Nice car co factory in Fargo ND. It needed to be recommisioned and detailed which I have done. Anyone that has ever sanded and buffed a car and thoroughly detailed one knows you get to know it pretty well.
Here is what I found... First off, there are differences of course. Most notably the thick protruding rockers which are actually heavy structural members. The windshield is taller and the frame is fiberglass. The taillights are closer to center because they were moved to make room for the trunk opening..... yes there is a fully functional trunk. I'd post pictures here but since I'm a free member I can't.
After hanging with the car for a few weeks I've grown to appreciate it for a number of reasons. One is, 99.9% of the people can't tell it's a fake. It also handles really well and rides much smoother than the real deal. Maybe it's the 80's malibu frame that gives it the smoothness and the fact that it's shortened that helps it handle, I don't know but it's actually a lot of fun to drive. It is very solid and has no cowl shake. Having restored 7 Corvettes I can tell you that the fiberglass is excellent quality. It has a 71 320hp 350 so it sounds like the real deal and has the power of the real deal. Brakes are excellent GM power discs with all GM power steering, A/C and even cruise control! The dash is similar to the original but comes off looking much cheaper.
Since GM now sues anyone that attempts to build a midyear replica chances are these 20-30 from the Nice Car co may be the only ones ever made. When I found it I never knew a midyear replica existed and there is extremely little info out there on the web about them and no others.
I'm taking it to a car show on Thursday with a big sign for the windshield that says "FAKE CORVETTE" just to get a few laughs and see what people have to say because otherwise most won't know the difference.
In closing.. no nothing compares to having the real deal but looking out over that hood and those fender bulges and hearing that engine roar and throw you back with tires screeching it's not a bad imitation. Dollar for dollar it's a lot of bang for the buck and a blast to drive.

Damn, that looks pretty darn nice, chokes me to say!
If I saw it with the trunk up like that, I'd probable have an accident or a heart attack!.....WEIRD.
How much are you asking for it?????

I'm not wanting to be accused of starting a "for sale" thread. That's why I didn't post a link to the auction. But I think most Corvette guys would be surprised how much these things bring when they are finished nicely.

There is a peckerwood at just about any car show that likes to talk down on the cars there, and when you ask the question Where is your Perfect car? They can't seem to point it out

Exactly why I don't waste my time sitting around car shows with a bunch of jealous C2 owners. Tom and Dennis (Midyear) really need to get a life. Many of the C2's at Carlisle this year I would not even buy for a parts car. In fact, some of the cars there were literally made out of scrap parts from many different year Corvettes and looked ridiculous. The nice C2's were either smart enough to keep their car home due to the weather, or just didn't want to sit around all day with jealous inferior Vette owners.

checked flea-bay and couldn't find it there. Post a link to the auction, or put it in the forsale section. Please, or pm me, thanks.
