Dyno results of new induction set up
I posted awhile back on the new sheet metal intake and air induction I installed on the LS7 in my car. I finally got it back on the dyno to tune in the new combination. Ed Hutchins got everything dialed in and we made some runs...whew, did it sound wicked!! End result was 593 RWHP and 523 ft-lbs RWTRQ. Was hoping to crack the 600 mark, but was pretty happy with the results. There are way too many types of computations for coming up with flywheel numbers from the chassis dyno...I'm guessing it's got to be a solid 675hp at the engine. Bottom line, the car picked up 40+ hp and lost no TRQ with the new intake throttle body and airbridge. I will add the dyno sheet and hopefully a video shortly. Here is a couple of pics of the mods I made.

When your cresting nearly 700 hp at the motor, the last 40 do not come cheap unless your adding spray. It's actually more than 40 hp if you consider how fast the new intake and mods deliver the additional power and carry it across the entire rpm spectrum. If you were to add the additional power delta between HP vs rpm throughout the 2000-7000 RPM range, the power achieved is significant. But to your point, no..it's not cheap.......but it looks cool too

That is a very clean looking setup.

Jeff,
Hope you were able to get roll bar installed so you can return to LS Fest in Sept and not get Black Flagged for lack of one due to being to fast. Good set of Drag Radials too...
Dyno numbers are nice, but low 10s to mid 9s second 1/4 mile runs really tell the story not just about engine, but the overall setup of your car.
The high 10s you turned last year on Street Tires first time on strip was remarkable. Would have loved to see times your old engine configuration would have turned with Drag Radials and little practice, before this latest change.
Looks like the new engine configuration with it's even broader and higher Horsepower power band has the potential to get car into times I mentioned above and remember from reading past post on what you hoped to achieve with change.
Midyear Corvette owners need someone to carry the Banner for us Porch Dog's that can't run with the Big Dogs... About all we can do is park in a line, pop hoods open and hope none of the Younger Generation walk by and asked a questions about our CORVAIR....
Show those in your generation and those in Younger Generations these old cars can still compete with their new cars when equipped with GM's latest Heartbeat of America engine too.

I'm going to take a WAG at this, over 5K.
700 hp is not all that hard to come by on pump gas, last 454 I did with a blower made 868HP on pump gas with carbs. It looks cool as well

Jeff...that is just pure artwork! And HP!!
Getting 40 naturally aspirated RWHP is a TON from an intake change. Just goes to show how good the rest of that package is if it can continue to take additional airflow like that!
Congratulations...can't wait to see the car in person some day!

Jim,
Yes I will be at Carlisle, hope to see ya there....I will PM you my cell number so we can meet up.
Brian,
Thanks again, what are you bringing to the show this year??
Jim,
Hopefully we can meet at the track someday so I can see that beast of yours run
Poorhouse,
Nope, no roll bar. I thought long and hard on that one and had actually started some fab work. I will have the car at LS fest, put will only be doing the auto-x and other events...no drags this time I am building the next car as something that can compete in all events....and even more evil
