moonframer,
Thanks for your post. Sounds like you have a car with an interesting story. Would love to see some pictures. Bet you did'nt expect all the Jr. Sherlock's to open a Federal investigation.

The Shelby GT 350-H is the most famous of all the Hertz "Rent-A-Racers. They contracted to purchase around a 1,000 units, with the number eventually falling in the 900. Those cars with 4-speeds bring sizeable dollars today.

This is an old thread that started out back in 2011 and here we are in 2019 and this Hertz 63 rental is at Barrett Jackson right now. Curious to see how much this car sells for.

Hello, I own a 1963 all original white split window with red interior. The car has lots of great documentation including bill of sale, protect-o-plate, dealer order form etc.
The car was sold new (along with several others) by a Chevrolet dealer in Denver,Co. to the Hertz Rental Car Corp. The cars were all 250 hp, autos and were out-fitted with snow tires and ski racks.
I am trying to get some add'l info on these cars and a copy of the ad that Hertz apparently ran showing these Corvettes ready to hit the slopes with a young couple.
Any help, info, etc. would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks, moonframer

This one is missing the ski rack, but it’s described in the narrative.
I dig the ski rack. Either that or a rocket launcher!

I think the SWC craziness has plateaued for a while; a white 250hp, PG car going at this price, with a historical twist, isn't surprising right now I'm thinking....
The rack has a JC Whitney look about it and not all that appealing beyond its uniqueness...

I think the skis were once owned by Franz Klammer, giving the car a $50K boost.....
Kind of neat story, and if you are a collector, it has a unique appeal.

I wonder if the car had been repainted. I would think with the carrier and skies that the paint would chapped from the cups or skis hitting body. If these cars were rented out, they would of been driven hard.
