Default [pics] Drag Racing 1972 New England Dragway

Got new scanner and scanned couple of old drag photos thought you would like to see...anybody recognize these cars, I took them around August 1972 at New England Dragway....

[

Love those old days....I was 21 and was using a Minolta SR100 with a 70-200 Vivatar Zoom Lense, F5.6. and still got great photos...these come off negatives that I scanned and color corrected....not bad.

Default Quick times....

Thats so cool seeing these time slips! I ran at PBIR (Palm Beach International) in Palm Beach Florida and our time slips were similar. I had a (don't laugh) 1963 Falcon Sprint 260/164 4-speed. High 15's - low 16's. Later ran C- Modified Production, same car different engine, best run of 13.2....... Hey this was 1964 and we had to really work to get these numbers!!

Ahh memories. Spent many a weekend there running and winning with my 70 GTX 6 pack 4 spd. Just found some time slips from there. Mostly wins running C Stock.
PS Boss 429's were slugs BTW.

I think you should give me one anyway. We Hyde Park kids were poor, ya know.

Remember the Corvette dealer across the street?

Have a 65 Hipo Mustang that was raced there in the 70's. Name was "BillBuster". It now has 4800 miles on it , 1/4 mile at a time. Dave

NO way!!! I thought maybe that was maybe a fake arm, like from a manequin! So is this dude WW Borsch still around?
Edit - nope. Googled the man - died of cancer at age 61 in 1991.
Interesting stories! http://home.comcast.net/~originalhiwayman/

The first car is my Dad's. Minuteman from Billerica, Mass. It was a '57 Vette he ran C/Altered in Modified eliminator, I think. I was really little when he raced it. He used to go to a lot of car shows with it, too.
