A few minor mods were factored into the build:

Intake valves were unshrouded and slightly enlarged from 1.72" to 1.84"
Comp 270H hydraulic cam - (224/224 - .47 lift I/E) - spec's fall between the L79/"151" & the Duntov "097" camshafts
.030 overbore

~~~
Here are some of the original and date code correct GM parts that were used:
January 17, 1961 Flint 283 Engine Block (3756519)
Correct cylinder heads (3774692)
Date coded and correct WCFB Dual Quad Carbs
Correct Dual Quad Intake Manifold (3739653)
Correct Dual Point Distributor (1110891)
Correct AC Fuel Pump (4656)
Correct Coil (1115091)
Correct Exhaust Manifolds (3749965 & 3750556)
~~~

Anything north of the original 245hp spec would be nice

Very Nice. This looks like it aint your first rodeo. Keep the pictures coming. I have a 61 also, doing a body on restorationrt5gh . The motor runs good but it is dirty. Do you know where I can find a 2x4 manifold? Got a 1x4 now.

Motor is now in the car with a new exhaust system.

Exhaust is a corvette central aluminized off-road system.

2" pipes, exhaust cross-over and with magnaflow round mufflers.

Perfect fit.

Here is what it sounds like (check your speakers)

Finished engine installed the car:

and a couple pictures of the car
