VIN number - stolen new from dealership
My 1966 was originally stolen new from the dealer and now has a state of CT id number rather than a vin number - would anyone know how to find out the original vin number. I'd like to try and get the original vin number reissued for the car.
any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Under glove box on Z-bar. Original/normal GM issued VIN tag.
2. On engine pad of the original engine
3. On transmission case of the original transmission on the left (drivers) side
4. Stamped into frame on drivers side
5. Stamped into frame on drivers side rear
The frame stampings can be seen with a flashlight and small mirror, or by removing the body.
Also, the TRIM Tag should have some info that will help to approximate the build date of the car and hence the VIN. Do you have the original GM issued TRIM Tag, and if so what info is on it??
