Default If I were to sell my 66 BB...?

Just out of curiosity, if I were to put my 66 BB up for sale, what do you all think would be a fair price? It is a fully documented 427/425HP 2-top convertible that has had a correct frame off (with all chassis components powder coated). Everthing, except for the engine, is numbers matching on the car (engine is 454HO), Nassau Blue ext (bc/cc), Bright Blue int., 4-sp close ratio, 4.11 posi rear, TI ign, 63k original miles (for real), and was sold by Yenko Chevrolet (documented). So what do you all think??

I'm a little confused on the engine. You say it is a 427/425 hp, yet later you say that it has a 454 HO engine. Can you clarify this? Do you have the original engine available as well??
Thanks.

Unfortunately I do not have the original engine (although I am still in search of it!). That is the one part on the car that is not original or correct (I had the 454 crate motor while I was restoring it, and it does deserve the BB, right?)

This is a hard one to call. Probably need to hear from others with more experience than me. Need a little more detail on the exact condition of the rest of the car. But, if you had the original numbers matching motor, you would be in the 45-50k range depending on which other options etc. With the newer BB (which is, at least, the right type of motor), you are probably going to be quite a bit less. Maybe 35k.

Anyone else have an opinion on this???

if the car is documented and restored I'm surprised the engine is not correct. 66 engine components are relatively easy to obtain and cheap. A correct engine will bring in value to a car compared to one that is not correct

Agree, The 10-15k you would spend getting a "matching
numbers" 425hp engine could raise the value 10-15k. Kind of a wash......
Hard to say, as some folks view matching numbers the same as orig.
where others do not. It all depends on the buyer.
Some would prefer any 427 to a 454, where others would welcome
the extra cubes. Depends who you talk to.:hat
Thats my guess anyway...........
Looks like a great car! :smash:
& Nice web site. I bought a 69 428 CJ years ago, and its engine went into
a race boat for a while. :cry The salt water rusted it from the inside out.
Had to find another block as it was toast.

That is a beautiful stable of cars you have there !!!!!

If you have the following correct components on the 454 to make your car a numbers & date matching 427/425 -- intake manifold, carb, exhaust manifolds, ign shielding, heads, dsitributor i.e. just the block is incorrect, then I feel the car is worth around 40-42k. if not 30-32k.
