Default "It's about time ride!"

Drove my 60 Vette yesterday for first time in 34 years!. Told wife I was going to take another short ride, got 1 mile from home and realized I didn't have any gas. Even found the shifting a little strange and took off in 3rd gear once and then went into reverse when trying to find 1st with the 50 years old Hurst shifter.
Got the Vette 34 years ago on my 40th birthday.
I purchased it from my best friend after the car suffered damage in a garage fire started by his fellow worker's ex-husband.

Default Sunday drive

It was a gorgeous day this past Sunday so we drove the Vette to church. Up to a whopping 1100 miles so far! At some point, I'm going to wrap the steering wheel with same leather as the dash...

Got a good start on building the body dolly, also removed various things like radiator, master cylinder etc. Wife helped me remove the hood and store it away. Got totally filthy dirty, retired the pair of pants I was wearing, so ripped and greasy they were not worth saving. Skinned 1 knuckle.

In other words, a very fun day!

Drove mine to the shop this morning to have the e-brake fixed, repack front wheel bearings and drain/flush coolant for replacement. I’m still in PT from my last spinal operation which was back in Dec. So I have my limitations.

Recharged the AC in my '67 ragtop with R12. Brought the vent temperature down from 60 to 42! The system took less than a can of R12.

Cruised 20 miles from Santa Monica to Woodland Hills for Supercar Sunday, and a rendezvous with fellow CF member Boyan, who drove his beautifully restored Sebring Silver '63.

19 miles per gallon, ouch! Since the Hemi/vette tank float needs to be replaced I've been just watching the odometer. After driving around town and that drive, about 30 miles to the Corvallis Car Show and back, I filled it up and and and, ouch!!! 8.9 miles per gallon !!!!

I guess I'll be locating lots of gas stations here, before I leave home, for any long drives.

Finally got the Holley Sniper EFI bolted in and gas lines complete, linkage/TV cable and ALL wiring done. Turned on Key and went through WIZARD setup on the hand held display. Key off then on and the fuel pump started but had to stop there No leaks - No short

Also in process of install 200-4r and still need a few things done like no AFT yet, new Shiftwork shifter not installed, Comp-U-Shift not installed, Exhaust not back on yet.

Oh yea distributor not bolted down yet, vacuum advance hose not on and all plug wire not on yet.

But much closer then I was earlier this year when I needed to get complete knee replacement and couldn't no anything for a couple of months

Glad you're on the mend! Having projects like this to look forward to can provide powerful motivation and can boost morale.
