You lucky Dog
Good to see old timers still able to walk and drive.. Hope you are not texting while driving.
Now me....... I took out my steering box. Took 1 hour with no problems.
Sending it off to Gary Ramaldi for its first rebuild ( untouched for 45 years) . Works good , but 45 years and 300,000 miles..... it must need something
Have fun and remember ...............gee I wish I could remember .......

I found the right size sturdy box today so I can ship my Hedman headers off to JetHot for new coating. Dennis

I sent my original block out to a machine shop to be align bored and bored. When it's ready I will be pulling my Restamped block out of the car and putting it back to original.
I ordered some new half shafts for the Maroon car and I am pulling the rear out to overhaul. Should be a busy couple of weeks.

Weathers been good in Kansas mid 50's. Just been driving mine. Got the grocey getter out ( 67 427 sidepipe conv) last night. All 3 carry out boys wanted to take my groceries to the car.

Jack,
Did you take the pitman arm off the steering box (~140 ft/lb) or the ball stud of the power steering control valve off the pitman arm (~45 ft/lb)? It seems the latter would be easier.
I have this from Gary R. for my 1974. When I see my car again in April the job will be done.

Prepping for the '67 resto
I've been cleaning out the parts that were packed into the back, cleaning the fiberglass, cataloging parts and may get to pick up a '91 Camaro T5 WC trans with all the goodies tomorrow. Already picked up two sets of front bumper cores, spare tire carrier and complete exhaust. Oh yeah, and tons of reading material...

Shipped my headers off today to JetHot, assessed the need for a couple of other things. Got to keep it in budget. Denis

This is what I did today.....test drive the new Power Brakes. Work great, if a little grabby. New Drums/shoes should solve that!
Anyway, here I am with Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier in the background....
And one of the Brake Booster installed....

Why don't you have a cover over the snow blower? Dennis

While I'm waiting for the new DeWitt's radiator and can't drive the car anyway, I decided to swap oil and filter in the motor today , the tranny and rear axle got an oil change too while I was at it , and I also installed a 90* adapter ,It's way easier to grease the speedo cable through the adapter.
It ain't easy to find proper mineral tranny GL4 and posi axle GL5 oil for old cars nowadays, but finally I found these.

Canadian winters and a unheated garage mean hibernation pretty much! For the car AND for me, hehe! I look in on them, make sure the batteries are up, and that no varmints have taken up residence. Extreme cold starting does more damage than good, so that's about it.

I'm still working on the finishing details of my T5 install. Yesterday I pulled the steering box (thought I should get it rebuilt while I have everything apart). My list today includes installing the shortened drive shaft, wiring up the mini starter, wiring the reverse switch, and possibly installing the side pipes. Should have everything back together, and on the road March 1st!
