found a leak in the right front brake line today, replaced all the lines in '2000....looks like it could be a pin hole where it bolts to the frame bracket before the flex hose.....

Great weather around here so I got the 62 out for a short run to get some oil and filter for the wife Camaro. Then did an oil change on the 62,5 quarts of Valvoline VV850 and a new Wix filter.I'll do the Camaro tomorrow.

Did you sterilize that Triumph seat after the show, or are you saving it for later sniffing....??

#4 mounts
i have replaced my share of these mounts but none have given me more fits than my own 66 drop top.
after soaking the cage nuts for days, the right side broke loose easily so i thought the busted knuckle gods were with me
not so for the other side. you guys know the routine, cage nut broke the cage. years ago i could squirm and contort, lie on my back to get at the two infamous 5/16 bolts that are inboard for the deck lid hinge brackets, but alas, no more!.....what a pita!
after much cramping and cussing that drove wifey back in the house, i got them. these two critters have to be the best kept secret of the assembly line workers as far as absolutely the worst fasteners to get at on the whole car!......oh well, i guess things will go smoother from here, hopefully anyway.......im done ranting for now. man, how much we love these cars or hate them we always have too show them we are the boss....

I haven't seen my car since November when i threw the cover over it. It is supposed to be in the 50's Wednesday so maybe if I am feeling really motivated I think I may try to charge the battery.

Completed all my planned winter projects including all new wiring in the 64 and fitting and fixing the hard top and soft top adjustments in the 59, replaced intake and water pump, and many other little projects................wierd winter here, snowed only once 1 " and was gone in a day, been driving the cars continuosly except for a 2 week period while the salt got washed away. Spring is in sight........ We now have the classic 1966 (my old one) 1/32 slot car track set up in the garage. Our favorite cars, 2 Corvettes of course! Little guy loves to race slot cars after driving the Vettes.

1. Sealed up the 4 speed console (part of the boot was not covering).
2. Adjusted the parking brake cables so the parking brake works.
3. Cleaned the exhuast pipes.
4. Sealed the oil line.
5. Sealed the breather outlet on the rear of the block.
6. Cleaned the parking lights
7. Rewired the car.
8. Install the tailights and cones.
9. Finished up the license plate.
10. Installed clean air hose.
Getting there...
Oh yeah, drove the car a few times over the weekend.

Sunday....
Finally got my car back last week after a fairly long shop visit and was really able to enjoy it this past weekend. I have to say...I've had a lot of cool and fun cars over the years but winding out that BB has to be one of the most visceral experiences in the motor world (topped only by the sound made when the pack at Talladega goes past you at speed...but that's another story).
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Orignal air cleaner cover to be re-chromed
Hi you all,
As I prepare my car for the Europe trip, I have been cleaning up my engine compartment.
Last project was the air cleaner cover. It was showing its age
Silk Screen
The metal finishing company is located close to me in Maine and they had done a great job on my rusted hockey sticks (seat rails)
He told me he would do just the top and protect the underside so that my original silk screen would still be visible.
I will post pictures in a few weeks of the re-chromed cover.

Took her out for the first time in 2012. Would have gone to old man Frank's house AKA midyearvette, but it took me 2 hours to find the keys and by then it was getting dark with rush hour traffic. So I cruised around the 25 MPH neighborhood and "You Aint Seen Nothing Yet" by BTOD started on the radio. Well the volume went up and gas peddle went down.... thanks to some lady who flashed her lights I slowed down and sure enough there was "copper" around the bend. Life is Good

Even prosecutors get speeding tickets, especially if you are going 60 in a posted 25 residential zone.
I used to leave the keys in the ignition in my Austin Healey until I drove it to work one day with the top down, parking in an open public space and left forgetting to remove the keys. I was shocked that after 8 hrs of sitting there, keys clearly visible that it wasnt stolen.
I got a new corvette key chain for Christmas. I put the keys on it and just forgot where I put it. Hell, I cant remember what I did 2 months ago.
