Default Corvette central, have they improved?

I have been considering setting up an account with these guy's because they are local. I have been hesitant to do so because of there past track record. Personally i had good luck with them until they decided to move to a new facility. It seems they went down hill big time after that. Have things improved there yet? Do you still have to wait months to get your parts?

I use them sometimes and have never had a problem. They have certain parts that are hard to get. I just ordered a '60 aircleaner (top only). I don't know if anyone even offers a top only. They did have problems when they moved, but like any move, they had some down time. I used Corvette World in Greensburg PA when I lived in Pittsburgh because I could go there in person. If I lived close to CC, I would use them and if they didn't have what I needed in stock, I would search other sources if I needed the part right away.

Just my take,
Curt

They are better now. Right after the move they shipped slow and had problems with not having the item in stock. Last week I placed and order. Ten minutes later I called back to add something to the order and I was told it had already been picked and was waiting to be shipped. I received the order 2 days later. I have not really had to many problems with them other than occasionaly they were out but have always shipped the back ordered item when they said it would be available.

sdixon,

I had them repair a couple of windshield posts for my 62 last November. They did a terrific job, and were only one week late (took 3 weeks instead of 2 - no big deal).

Good luck,

Over the past few years I've ordered a few things. Sometimes with fantastic turn-around... once not. The worst was when they were in the middle of the move. Two simple car bras took two or three weeks to get to me (one was a Father's Day present... so I was none-too-happy.) Other than that they've been OK.

Always check stock levels prior to you order. They keep tell me that part was due in Friday - if you call on Friday they say it should be here but the compter isn't updated yet, but call on on Monday and seems that they didn't recieve it and it due in Friday again. If the parts in in stock they seem to do very well!

I too have had reasonable dealings with them ~EXCEPT~ when they were in the process of moving. They most definitely were horrible during that time frame (they couldn't find anything!) When I call to order from them now I always ask "Are you guys moving anytime soon?" If the answer is no, I place my order.

Have made a few orders with CC and had no problems. They contacted me when my order looked wrong so I could correct it, and kept me informed if anything needed to be re-ordered.
No months of waiting required!

I to always had pleasant dealings with them before the move. I felt their customer service was top notch.
I just want to make sure the issues over there have been resolved before i open an account. I am getting the impression that it will be ok now. Thanks for all the input.

I ordered a pair of headlight gears along with about $100.00 of other items.
Everything came in right on time except the gears..
They sent me two notices telling me they were out of stock, but since I really didn't need them (I got them as spares) I kept the order opened..
Took about two months, but they did ship them.. And they are exactly as the originals.. I guess I can't complain..
I have always been happy with the quality of their parts.

BTW,
Those gears were half the price of other vendors.. :)

I say what the heck... Give them a try..

I'm sure you will hear about it if it dosen't  This is the first place people will go to complain if they order parts from me and they end up on back order. :cry

I hate to say it, but most catalogs sell the same parts.
Not all that many folks are making this stuff.
Quite a bit of it comes from Paragon, as I understand.
Anyone else familiar with this? Several co's make interior
soft parts, but I dont think too many folks make the hard parts?
Any ideas?
