Hey Jack, We are ready to go here on Cape Cod. We will give you the proper send off as we did last year for your US trip. Most of the same crew as last year and some additional people are ready to go. We'll make sure you get a little rest before you leave . Should be fun

Hi Paul,

That sounds wonderful. To make it real......lets have a mock inspection (judging) of my car. (no overspray points)

But seriously, because I work alone on my car as the mechanic....would I trust me to send me off to Europe without a second opinion on the work I have done, if would be fun to make sure I have not overlooked anything. Maybe we could put it up on your lift.

Hope to avoid any problems before I go.

I would come a day or so earlier, and can stay with my friends in Barnstable.

If I want to get the car on a boat that will get the car to Norway by the 3rd of August, It would have to leave the port by the July 20-23

So, if we have a send off, it should be the week after the 4th or the weeks before in June, if that works for everyone. This way it does not interfere with July 4th stuff. Let me know what you think.

Jack

PS Use good polish

Last chance for cheap gas........

Jack, The last week of June sounds great or the week after the 4th would also work. Nothing but Zaino for your Baby

We can definitely get it up on the lift and give it a good look

Talking about July 4th there is a big cruise here in Norway that date in a place called Lillestrom just outside of Oslo

Have a look at the video. Pretty nice music too

I used to have a Camaro Z28 that looked just the same as the one you see at 3,22 min into the video

Saint,

GREAT video. That just reinforces how much appreciation you folks have for all the American iron there. If I didn't know better, I though I was at the Harper Cruise here in Michigan. VERY NICE!

Would you like to be in Road & Track? Invite columnist Peter Egan, noted international road-trip chronicler, to accompany you for at least part of the journey.

Default Insurance while driving in Europe with my car

Hi, I have found out that my insurance company does not cover me in Europe for driving my car .

Have any of you taken a car to Europe to drive and if so , how did you cover you insurance needs , I have European companies that cover any Europeans I may crash into (they into me) but will not cover my car for damages or theft.

Let me know if you used a US company or European one

Thanks

Jack

Jack,

I'm sure this is possible. What about all the military staff in Europe who bring their cars. They must be insured. I'll ask my insurance company if they can help or at least if they can point you to someone.

Default A Dutch Company

I may have found a Dutch Company. Their site has coverage for temp. tourists driving their cars in Europe , I will know more in a day or so,

If they work out I will post and this could be a big problem solver for me and any to follow.

The response from Corvette owners on the continent has been overwhelming. The map is filling up with dots just like the US map did.

Going 600 miles above the Arctic circle is going to be some ride...

Me and maybe one other crazy Norwegian....have to watch out for reindeer and snowmen......

Default Mile and Miles How many miles ?

On the 48 state trip the distance was 19,238 and SebringBill was the closest with 19,650 ...

Who can guess the Europe trip distance ? The map below is a projected route, not the actual. Who knows where I will go once I get there. But I will follow the general directions of this map.

The winner gets a weekend stay at the ocean in Cape Elizabeth.

Default TV Reality Show

Hello and Good Spring to All,

I have been looking at several TV productions on Car Travel, Classic Cars and other Car type shows.

Many of you have asked about doing a show on my adventures....

What would you like to see a show that would feature my travels in Europe. The people I meet and host me, car collections and historic places would be shown.

I would travel basically alone and would have to survive on a limited budget as I had in the US tour. Remote cameras in car and one camera man following for distant shots and interviews .

Please list the things that would make you come back and watch week after week. All suggestions are welcome.

What kind of interaction do you want to see?

Your feedback will help me create a show that we all will be proud of. After all the show is about you and your love of these wonderful machines that we give life to........

Jack

Jack what you did on your last tour was exceptional coverage of the trip. It would be good if you could approach GM and see if you could obtain some sponsorship for the European trip. If you wanted a camera man following you what a great opportunity for GM to use a new Corvette for that purpose, they couldn't get better advertising.....just sayin'

Hey Panzman, I think you covered to main things above, and for me a little of the culture of each country, like the wine, women, and food. And some FUNNY stuff to break the travelogue feel. And, of course lots of photos of you and your car in historic European landmarks to mark the "American Invasion"

Q. Did you ever get any feedback from GM regarding interest or sponsorship?
Thanks Robbie.
