Default Funny thing happened at a Corvette show

Went to a Corvette only car show and 99% of the 200 and more were newer Corvettes . I in my 55 and the guy next to me having a 53 had to inform many of the Corvette people that our cars are Corvettes and what they looked like in the beginning. It was surprising how many people dint know 55 was the first year having a V8.The guy at the left putting his hand inside asked me where are the windows

I recently quit our local Corvette Club (Rochester Corvette Club) because at every function the would field 60 plus C2s, 30 C1s and my 64. I found them to be completly uninterested in anything more that a year or two out of the showroom. We used to laugh at the PT Cruiser people who drove right from the dealer to the show but lately Corvette guys in Rochester are much worse.

There is a very happy ending; our local AACA welcomes everyone with a car over 25 years old and golly-gee they like to talk about cars.

I have to agree, most of the corvette shows around here are the same. Mostly newer vettes and the owners do not really have much interest in the older ones. Maybe it is just a silent envy, or should be, nothing like the older vettes, for class and style.

As the years go by, fewer and fewer people even know what they are.

Guess I don't see why that's a bad thing - and if there are that many old Vettes I would think you DO have interest in oldies. Or did you mix that up - your '64 would belong in with the 60 C-2's, no?

The Corvette shows I attend are mostly C5 & C6's. When somebody like me shows up with my '62 I get the strangest looks.

I like the "Corvette Wannabe" with the T-shirt asking, "Where's the windows".....Just because you have the $$ doesn't make you a Covette enthusiast ....IMO......Nice '55 by the way!

We all know Roy that that is EXACTLY why you love it.

You go to a show and have a one-of-a-kind car with even rarer options (bubbletop, etc.) and you have to know beforehand it'll screw with folks' heads !!

yes that is rather ambiguous but I got the drift, however there are a lot of C5 / C6 owners out there that have C1/C2 trailer queens at home and appreciate all Corvettes

I'm going on the cruise below ...never been w/ the group before & it looks like 95% of the cars will be C3s.....I think I better wait till my second event w/ them before wearing one of those very funny shirts.....r they for sale anywhere?

Either of those shirts would be desirable. Seriously, does anyone make (carry) those? I definitely would like to have one or both of them.
