Just saw that ad too. Neat car. Lots of original looking bits on that car. Neat find. Too bad it had flares at one point.
390 air coupe, 4 speed, nice setup.

Looks like the Holy Grail of astronaut Vettes.
Since Neil Armstrong has done very little post Moon PR. This has to be one of the few items the public has their hands on.
It's gonna be pricey. I bet the guy wants $1,000,000.

That's a neat car. Makes you wonder how they get left to deteriorate to that state.
I dunno...for someone who chased the car for 30 years to buy it...it sure seems odd that the emotional attachment was lost so fast. Can you say $$$$???

I'd still rather have Jon Voight's LeBaron...

One thing I have read about Neil Armstrong, he doesn't like people making money off of his name. He stopped signing autographs when he found out what it was worth. He stopped using his barber of 20 years after he found out he was selling his hair clippings. I doubt he would pose for a picture with his old car.

Sorry but I do not see where Neil A. owning that car adds value to the car? Had he never owned it the car would it would not be worth that kind of $$$$ to someone. They are not paying for the car, they are paying big $$$$ because someone owned the car. Sorry but I don't see it being worth it.

Oh yeah I totally forgot, and I know its not Corvette related. About two years ago I saw Neil Armstrong and other Astronauts at the U.S. Capitol in support of future manned space flight. I was pleased to see him turn down Nancy Pelosi when she shoved the book First Man in his face for an autograph.
