Default Question concerning 1965 Glovebox Lampswitch assy

Not sure how to assemble the 3 pieces that make up this assy?
1) switch, 2) round plastic thing with short wire attached, 3) Lamp (12v)
Thanks for any suggestions.

Here's what mine looks like. I added my own stub wire (the red wire) so that I could disconnect the switch from the wiring harness any time I wanted to.

Here is a link to a similar thread that I started several years ago when I was trying to figure out the same thing. There are some really good PDF files in one reply that show in detail the components of the light switch and how they are oriented when assembled:

Good luck with your project!

Jeff,

I did the same thing. Got tired of wrestling with the wire when trying to take the glove box out. I just used a bullet connector.

More details: The switch and its plastic lamp holder (with spring) was missing the red wire.
The round plastic thing with the short red wire was the same as the lamp holder but missing the switch/spring!
So I removed the red wire & its metal clip and installed on the switch/lamp holder.
Now thats what I ordered and matches the assy in the picture above! The lamp came with the bulb cover.
