Antone else see the 67 on Fox News Channel this morning?
I was just sitting here in the office, with the TV on in the background, when Fox News started a piece on E15. They had some guy from the "alternative" fuel industry, talking about how wonderful E15 was, even if it was harmful to most older cars. This caught my attention, and made me look at the broadcast.
After the Ethanol supporter finished, they went to a reporter in the York, PA area, who was at a gas station that sold only Ethanol free gasoline. Sitting at the pumps was a Lynndale Blue 67 convertible, with a white soft top! Only the rear of the car could be seen, but it was obviously a nicely restored 67, with stock rallys, white walls, and purple PA antique auto tags.
The owner of the station was interviewed. He spoke about how people were gladly paying more for his gas because it was Ethanol free, and that he had the only station in York County, selling it.
I wonder if that 67 belongs to someone on the Forum?

I stopped watching TV about 4 years ago! I donated my TV to the Women's Shelter. So much time is wasted in front of the idiot box... I don't know, maybe more people should read a book.

So there is life beyond TV?
Yeah, I refused to own a tv some years ago. That lasted about 3 years.
Then slowly I began watching tv again, and now I have so many satellite channels, it's insane. I try to convince myself that I only watch "important, meaningful shows", of high quality content, but I doubt that American Idol, my second season of viewing, really qualifies. The "dumbing down" of our society is on 24 hours.
Television, the drug of the Nation

I do get Netflix & read reviews about TV shows & documentaries .....I hand pic those that sound like I might enjoy them...if I don't, then I don't order the rest of the series.
There really is quality stuff out there, but u have to shift through sooo much inane puke to find it.....watching the DVDs, u also don't see the hideous advertisments.

Answer me this:
So, we never had to pay for TV when the broadcast was analog and reception was via rabbit ears or other antenna. We had to endure commercials, but they were not nearly so numerous as they are now.
Now we have to PAY for (basic)TV, PLUS we now have to endure commercials that are much more frequent.........probably approaching 50% of the total broadcast time.
Yet there are radio services which are paid for, such as XM, which are totally commercial free.
I'm tempted to put my foot through the TV, or throw it out the window sometimes because of the relentless commercials and idiotic content. I have never, ever watched one, single reality program, and would be hard pressed to answer anybody's questions about any of them. I certainly couldn't have an intelligent (oxymoron, ha ha) conversation with anyone about any of them.
I spend most of my viewing time with PBS and Turner Classic Movies. Interestingly, one of my favorite shows is Family Guy (go figure!). Probably because it is so heavily sarcastic. The only FOX Noise show that I enjoy is "The Five". I also enjoy Charles Krauthammer when he's featured on Special Report's discussion panel.

INTELLIGENCE...after watching 10 episodes on commercial tv, I purchased the series...everyone that I've turned it on to has really dug it.

I find myself having less and less time for TV, mostly because I spend more and more time on the forums

There's a lot of names I could find for Stewart. Journalist would not be on the list..
Some may call him an entertainer. I am not one of them.
Funny, many folks under 40 actually think they are getting news from guys like Stewart and Mahr.
