Default Are 58 trunk spears hazardous to your health?

I was looking a my desktop 58 shot, you know, with the nekkid hottie lying on it, and wondered if a 58 got whacked in the rear end, those spears may actually break off and actually SPEAR the occupants! Has there ever been an documented accident like that.

I never really thought about the spears but sure did about the steering shaft. I'm old enough that I saw quite a few accidents where people took the steering shaft in the chest.

Yep, the steering shaft in the chest and I do remember reading a story of a young girl being injured. She died after an accident and they found a radio **** imbedded in her brain.

18 years ago a good friend died in his '57 Vette during a collision with a drunk driver when the steering column impaled his chest .

You look at a naked woman in a car and that's what you think about?

Aren't the spears just cast pot metal like a door handle, not particularly strong? I don't know, I've never dropped one on concrete and seen it shatter.

Was that the guy/accident
who was acknowledged by the author in a corvette book? I can't remember which book at the moment.
