coupe or convertible?
I was wondering on peoples opinion.... if you could only have one c2 in your life what would it be ? a coupe or convertible all being equal in condition ?

When I was 12 I saw a SWC at the mall and I knew someday I had to have one. Six years ago I started my hunt and never even considered a roadster. Locally, midyearvette has a roadster and I have had several rides in it and boy topless can be fun. Coupes look cooler, roadster are more fun.

The coupe has the "look". You need that roof line to capture the "look". The top-less is more "fun"; but, for the real "look" you need the flowing lines that the coupe gives.

Coupes look better. Convertibles are more fun to drive in the summer. I've had a few of each and prefer the 2 top convertibles. Best of both worlds

I have owned several of both and this is what I tell people when they ask what one I like the best?
If you sit back and look at the coupe there is not a more striking or better looking Corvette.
But on the flip side there is nothing like getting your best girl putting top down and going for a ride on a warm summers evening!
So the choice is up to you. Do what is best for you not someone else.

If I was just buying it to look at, I would have to have a coupe.
If I was buying it to drive and enjoy, the convertible is the only way I would go!

If I had to pick one, I'd take the coupe or convertible.
Edit: I never thought about it before, but I have owned 7 C2's and each time have alternated from coupe to convertible and then back. Started with a 65 coupe in 68 and now back to a 65 coupe. I guess I can't just pick one.

Coupe, although I have a soft spot in my heart for a Daytona Blue convertible I was loosely connected with in high school that a forum member bought recently (I let rain keep me from the Expo where it was auctioned). I would buy that particular convertible and be happy due to the sentimental connection.

I would love to have one of each as do many of the forum members, but since I have only one I picked the convertible. Living in Southern California with nice weather all year round, a convertible made sense to me!

I couldnt decide....
I actually had two midyear ownership dilemmas... coupe/roadster and original/modified. I solved it by getting a very original roadster and a (not so original) coupe I plan to run a 383 and a 5 speed in.
The roadster has a classic feel perfect for sunny day cruising, the coupe is noisy, angry and fast like it should be !
