Default non working guages 65 corvette

Installed new gas tank and sending unit in the 65 corvette plus new engine temperature sending unit on motor. Neither gauge works. When I install new fuse in fuse panel for these gauges, it instantly shorts or blows out with key on. Any suggestions?

I think I would start with disconnecting the fuel sender wires and see if it corrects your short. You may have it miswired or a pinched wire between the fuse and the rear connector or at the sender. The tan wire connects to 12v, make sure it doesn't have a short or hooked to the wrong lug.
