I started a thread last month on crate suppliers of a 383. I also contacted JEff Reade in culver city. I decided im going to have Jeff build my engine.
Before i do, i would like to go into knowing what parts i want.
Any recommends? i want 400hp , i have no core to start.
Heads? (can you paint aluminum) Which kind are good.
cam?
pistons? (type)
Roller cam recommended?
Im going to use my exhaust manifolds. (i know im giving power away)
I want the HP but in a perfect world would not want the over lumpy idle for a corvette.
I have a 4 speed muncie in now, can i keep this?
If your having a guy build it, why not give him the performance specs you want and let him choose the parts appropriate for the specs? Your muncie is fine for your build.
As stated above most of the parts need to be spec'd by the engine builder as he is the one responsible for the engine build. Are you looking to have 400 horses to the wheels or the crank?
