Luby Chevrolet
I received my shipping report today. My '63 was sold by Luby Chev in Baltimore MD. It's now in my garage in Canada.
A quick google search turned up next to nothing .
Any Baltimore area members know anything of Luby? I suspect they have changed hands a few times in 50 years

I remember Luby Chevrolet, as Shemp stated, on Monument St. in Baltimore.
Didn't know what happened to the dealership.
I worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the early to mid 1970's and would pass the place often.

Luby Chevrolet was on Boylston Street in Boston, just West of Park Drive. I visited it several times in the mid/later 60s while I was at law school. I believe it closed in the early 70s. They did indeed have "I Love Luby" key rings.

I most certainly do remember Luby Chevrolet in Baltimore, I was born and raised just a few blocks from there. That's where my Father bought his first 1962 Chevrolet Impala. Luby's showroom window was typical of many in that era with a big glass showroom. The dealership was where Monument street and Madison street split and the business was located at the tip of that triangle.
That old Impala was a good car from my memory, dad called it "shehasta" she-has-ta, it took me until recently to figure out what he meant by that. I think when we took a trip to Miami Fl. in 1970 he was prepared to leave it if there were car problems but shehasta make it back home like it always did. The car went down and back without a hitch.
I LOVE LUBY must have been used by both dealerships..

I have a copy of the Maryland Department of Transportation MV Title dated 10.17.77
The name on the title was James Keith Arnold of Parksville. I tried googling the name but came up empty handed. It would be interesting to know the history of my 63.

Vern Bessling was the parts guy. Ken Jestes was the parts dept. manager. Ken lives in Tennessee now. We stay in touch.
Chip Hosfelt? (spelling) owned the dealership.
AD Anderson used to sponsor the Corvette Club of Baltimore, of which I was a member at the time.

You know Chuck, that's where my 67 was delivered new. The original owner was a pharmacist, probably went to school at U. of Md. when I spoke with him he lived in western Md.
He traded a 65 for the 67.

They were located on Edmondson Avenue (Rt. 40 West). Not sure what happened to the old dealership buildings. That neighborhood became pretty rugged in the mid to late 1970's.
The old CCB used to meet there.
If you look in old Corvette magazines from the 70's and maybe even the early 80's, Anderson usually had large ads touting performance parts, Corvette stuff, etc.
