Good tip, Pete.
A 65 300HP 4 speed bench seat fact air car, ordered new.
Oh, the things we did to the cars...
Safety,...dust masks, eye protection,...a wonder any of us are still alive.
My best buddy, still, a former Marine. Car, 66 360hp 396 4 speed, circa 70.

Safety Car
My 2nd 1957. Purchased in 1976
My good friend RAY KIMMINAU originally from Colorado lived in California when I met him. He was the parts manager at COURTESY Chevrolet in San Diego form 1961 to 1972. I met Ray thru a good Corvette friend from the NORTH COUNTY CORVETTE CLUB of San Diego in 1973. Ray taught me about vin and trim tags on mid years. I discovered my 65 was original GLEN GREEN with black leather. Remember guys, this was 4 years ''before'' NCRS.
Ray owned a 65 Nassau Blue 396 coupe that he bought new.(Still owns it today). He also owned the 57 that he drag raced. It was vin #288 and originally a black with red interior, base engine, Powerglide when new. Ray found the car in San Diego and installed a 68 L-88 crate engine and went drag racing. The car was a regular at OCIR (Orange County International Raceway) in Irvine, California.
As I remember, it ran in the 10's and maybe even a few 9's.
In 1976, Ray put a 66 small block 327/ 350hp cam and a muncie 4 speed in the car and put it back to street use. He had painted it to 62 Honduras Maroon and dyed the original interior to black by this time.
I just had to have this car. It was never damaged, had two tops, working Wonderbar Radio, and of course rust free California car. So I bought it. The first weekend I drove it to our Viejo Vette club annual picnic.
The following winter I stripped and painted the car back to black lacquer, red interior as original, and replaced all the chrome. We did this in Tim Gibson's garage. Tim was a painter/ body guy for the Buick store in Santa Ana. I know I have photos of those days if I can find them. In the mean time, here is a photo at the LION COUNTRY SIC-SIC Autocross in 1978.
We really had a great time in these early days.

My 54 Ford
I modified it slightly to a T-Bird 312 engine and changed the automatic to a 3 speed stick...those are the "Jimmy Jones" skirts his first bubble with a belly style pounded out from junk yard station wagon roofs
The 1937 in the drive is the car my Dad made the first A/Altered "Walts Puffer" Drag Racer from in 1957

We put a Nailhead in a 52 using a LaSalle box and Honest Charley adapter, ran good.

A few more.
A 65 sb, bb conversion, 67 gills and hood. We cut the 67 stinger center out of a wrecked hood, used it for a template, and glassed it into a 65 sb hood,...hey, we were poor. Modernized, to 67. Circa 67.
Oh, the things we did to these cars...
Also changed the color.
Shucked a clutch on the interstate, 1966.
Note the Kelsey Hayes wheels. We were cool,...till things broke.
Another 63, don't recall the owner's name, nice car.
Wynnewood Shopping Center, Oak Cliff, Dallas, Tx.

Those sure look like Miami pictures, Coral Gables??
It's great that you have been able to resist the urge to get rid of the 62.
I went to Suntan U in the early sixties.

1964 - Detroit
Bought the car in 1975 in Detroit, painted it in shop class at Crestwood High School, took it to prom in 76, restored it in 2002 again....the second resto was painful, fixing all those teenage mistakes!

It's great that you, and Walley, have kept your cars all through the years.

Hodgepodge
My 64 had a 63 speedo, 63 hubcaps, hurst shifter, 67 grill, mustang seats and a lot of backyard wrenching.....which at the time I thought was very rough, but knowing what I know now...the car was very complete......Check out the garter belt and bowling ball shift ****....lol
The car had a replacement radio......it was original sold by Dawson Taylor Chevrolet in Detroit.....I bought the car in 1975 3 miles from the dealership.....had to push start it to take it home, and the water pump shaft was so worn, I worried the fan would go through the hood....lost of good times on Woodward avenue and Telegraph in the 70's.....she sat dormant for almost 25 years.....
