My 1975 L 82 Convertible I owned years ago. I wish I would have kept it.

I bought this Chevelle convertible in 1980. By then the salty NE Ohio roads did a number on the sheet metal. In 1982, new quarter panels and rust free doors were installed while changing the color to red. Pictures were taken in the 1980 to 1982 time frame.

Silverrick. Nice Yenko! I have a soft spot for '70 Novas! Here's a couple pics of the one I had. Sold it about 12 years ago. (man it just seems like yesterday)

Back in 1981, I was 19 years old, after years of drooling over C3 Corvettes as a teen, my first chance to actually sit in one. And guess what? It's a red Chromebumper convertible. A 68 model, displayed at the local shopping mall here in Switzerland. I had just returned from my stint in Florida. It was the promotion of a photo store who invited passerbys to sit in it and have their picture taken. I think I look as if I belong. Took me another 29 years before I got to own one myself though.

Here are a few more period photos for you. This is in Staunton, IL at the McBride Chevrolet dealership. They were holding a show and a bunch of people from the Mississippi Valley Corvette Association drove up to see it. Many of these were daily (or nearly daily) drivers at the time. This was in 1979, May, I think. It could have been in June.

Easter day, 1974
This was taken at the Yorktown, Va. battlefields. I was driving my '67 GTO, and my best friend's '72 Malibu is on the left. Cars not pictured are a '73 Malibu and a '69 Torino.
I'm the guy in the middle, wearing the tan colored pants. To my right in baby blue hip huggers was my girlfriend.
We've been married almost 42 years. And we still have the GTO. Both are numbers matching.

Melting Slicks
From the age of 7 in 1967 I new I wanted a 63 Corvette. After I got out of high school I started buying and selling cars to get the money. Here are 2-57's I bought in 1987 in San Diego to sell back in my home town in NJ.
I sold the 57's after 2 years and flew out to San Diego in 1989 and bought my 63. Picture is my friend putting antifreeze in the cars for transport back home-it was Jan.1987 Second pic. is my 63 the day I bought it in 1989 in La Jolla Ca.
