Default looking for advice & comments

If I was to make and have a web sight just for 55 owner to see and get info on most every part of the Corvette using original parts in pictures and part numbers to help 55 owner restore, learn and make their 55 correct. It would be a member only sight with inner action and comments among other 55 owners to improve all info and knowledge about 55 Corvette and parts in pic's . I don't know of any other sight of any year Model Corvette offering a one on one sight like I'm thinking about so knowledge can be shared . .Anyone have idea's if I started something like this and what would be a fair cost for 55 members to join such a sight . Thanks

I have a server with unlimited file space and no cost. (My son gives me the costs for a xmas present each year.) I can build you a site and/or set up a gallery for pictures at no cost. I have a 55 with lots of frame off pictures that I was going to get to sometime so it would just get me started,

Here is a gallery of early ZR-1 stuff. I can set the gallery up for you as an administrator and you can post pictures with comments and edit anything posted by others. I can also do a web site but it is much easier to do it as a gallery.

http://thepandatrap.com/gallery/ZR-1s

Here is one I did for my NCCC club.

You can also use facebook and restrict access to someone you know.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1783233&type=3

You can set the access to limit access to the site to those who you accept as a friend.

I would be surprised if you get enough interest for a pay access site.

Lemme know.

Sounds like something that would have limitied interest, maybe a few hundred people. Hard to defray those costs and make it cheap when you amortize over a small group but you never know.

Why not use Photobucket or similar site to store info , with possibly a 55 only reference right here as a sticky or in the stored thread section ,

Tyler thanks for the offer but I also have a friend helping me. If it gets a number of member to cover the cost I'm OK with that, For many years 'I've collected 400 pictures and more of NOS parts that I have and from others that were so kind to share with me. Many people lose money buying wrong parts from sellers based on just the part number and then find that the part is wrong in design or year . Like they say a pic is worth a million words . This sight would be real time interactive for comments and sharing pic.. I've had and love all corvettes but 55 is my one love affair.Anyone on this sight having a 55 I would like to hear from them and love to have pic's of parts they think is original correct and I'll share info. 55copper@oro.net

+1
adding 53 & 54

I agree... I would think it would be better to go 53-55 instead of just 55. I know you are in love with the 55, and that is where your heart is, but I would cover all the early C1 bases. Its not like their are tons of any of them out there...

But, do what your heart tells you... (despite Jeremiah 17:9 )

Cheers

I put together a web site for the C1/C2 RestoMods to centralize all the services and suppliers for these types of projects. It is just a hobby site and something I always wanted to do.

www.vetterodder.com

I used godaddy.com to register the domain name and signed up for their website builder. Not being a professional web site or computer genius, I found their program to be easy enough for the average person to navigate without much frustration at all.

The cost is reasonable if you do the work yourself.

I just need to figure out an angle to make it a profitable business venture somehow????

If I could have someone help with 53 to 54 I could add them because so many body and outside areas are the same . My sight I'm doing can have a 53 and 54 section also.I just need someone to send many and I mean many picture giving information on each part as I'm doing for the 55. I don't see use getting rich ! I don't care just love these old Corvettes and think it would be a first any where on the net . Something new to help others that JUST love our Corvette. This like I said would be more of a pic wed sight then just talking Corvettes. What do others think??

Default 55

Sounds like a great idea. Some of the Blog sites are easy to use. I don't know if they will hold enough Info.
