Quanta says Next day Air from MD to UT shipping cost $348...not worth the extra cost for fast delivery to me...so the car will not run by Tuesday. Better to plan it out anyway, get the proper extra parts, check out my fuel level sending unit, check the hoses, screws, gaskets, fiber pads, straps, etc.

Yes, we need a build sheet to make this car "better than new", who makes those build sheets? Maybe the BB 65's had them...ha!

Larry,

Here's a link to a thread on replacement of the fuel tank sending unit that I created recently. Some of the procedures in this link might also be helpful with replacement of your tank.

Best Wishes!!

A while back JohnZ offered this suggestion. Soak the rubber "O" ring that seals the Sender/Pickup unit overnight in motor oil. It swells slightly and lubricates unit for installation ease. Al W.

That's an Engineering requirement, as noted in the Assembly Manual, which is why we did it that way in the plant.

Weeeellll, I should take a step back - It was not necessary on my 65, which has sidepipes. I do not know what is required to remove the undercar exhaust, if your car has that.

No undercar exhaust here either.
