Default Hurst for my 63?

I have a 62 340hp 4speed Borg Warner . My Early 63 fuelie has a Borg Warner too. My 62 has a hurst shifter that really works good. I have seen 2 or 3 on ebay for the 62 but all the 63s (hursts) are for muncies . My question is will the 62 hurst work in my 63? The hurst (62) is the bent short shaft style. 864-380-4796 or dcrocker316@gmail.com

while i can't be absolutely sure, i believe it will; the transmission is the same and the shifter mounting position on the tailshaft should be the same.... so, it should work

As I recall, the Hurst shifter for a '63 has a reverse lever that has a 90 degree bend to clear the crossmember. If a "62" shifter has this feature, it should work.

I believe you'll need to buy an install kit specific to your trans and vehicle, though.

Default Hurst shifter

Any one out there ever put a 62 hurst on a early 63 , both having a BW 4 speed. Thanks for your quick response . Also does anyone have a 62 shifter I could try. Probably need linkage too. Dave 864-380-4796

You need to pay attention to post #2. Jim is telling you right. The '63 shifter is one year only because of the reverse lever clearance. It would also follow that the reverse rod and transmission lever is probably also specific to '63 but I don't know for sure.

The stock B/W shifter is the same way. One year only.
